Apply for a Zoo JobsThe Abilene, Texas community is deeply involved with the Abilene Zoo. In fact, the Abilene community build the foundation of this zoo. Many individuals and multiple organizations have helped the zoo. A long time ago an Abilienian used to save wild animals in the wild from poachers and have them shipped to Abilene. For organization examples, the Abilene Junior League donated the 1st flock of flamingoes. Another organization example is Leadership Abilene. They helped fundraise money to get a lone male giraffe a female for a mate.
