Males scent-mark with a wrist gland that also has a horny pad used to gouge scent into bark.

Lemurs’ long tails are not prehensile. Instead they are used for balance or held in the air as a guiding flag while foraging.

A male lemur will also engage in stink fights during mating seasons, wiping his tail with the scent glands on his wrists and waving it at another male.
